Study in Sweden

Reasons for choosing Sweden to Study
All the information I will going to reveal is based on my research which I have done to study for international Master for program in Sweden. Basically following things are needed to be consider to plan for study in Europe for Higher Education (Master or PhD.). The whole procedure is explained in the up coming titles.

Program of your Interest
The prior most thing needed to consider for the Higher studies is the choosing a program of your own interest. Luckily the Sweden offers more specialized courses for international students in English then most of the other countries in Europe. You will can find a program of your own interest. Do consider to find courses in Sweden on the following link courses in Sweden

Ranking of universities
For Sweden the ranking of the universities offered is superficial by the well known authorities such as THES or Shangai University. In Sweden the universities ranking is normally the same. That’s is also true for lot of countries in Europe, but they differ for the programmes they offer and the opportunities available in the locality in which they located. All the universities are fully equipped with high tech equipment.

Universities in Sweden
As mentioned above the universities are almost the same in ranking but differ due to the other factors considered by the students. The ranking in my opinion of Swedish universities considering lot of other factors is as under. The other factors are locality, number of foreign students, size, variety programmes offered and so on.

Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (Locality and Students preference due to Science and Tech)
Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg (Offers Only programme in Radio Astronomy)
Linköping University in Linköping
Uppsala University in Uppsala
Lund University in Lund
Göteborg University in Gothenburg
Stockholm University in Stockholm
Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm (Famous due to its biomedicine programmes ranked 3rd in World)
Luleå University of Technology in Luleå (Famous due to Space dept. in kiruna)
Umeå University in Umeå (Famous due to Space dept. in kiruna. Only university Offers programme in Space technology)

Financial Matters

Tuition Fees
Sweden offers unique international programmes in this regard that they charge no tuition fees and even admission fees. However various countries in Europe charge no tuition fess yet some of them are charging tuition fees for international applicants but not in Sweden.

Living Expenses
You have to consider the living expenses as Swedish institutes offers no scholarships. The living expenses in Sweden are average 500-700 Euro, however this expenditure can substantially decrease if decrease the cost of living by sharing the room may be 300-400 Euros. You can reduce it even further when you are living in town. The expenses quoted above is such a case when you are not dining outside and sharing the room or living a average life.

Finding A Job
Don’t Consider Sweden or Europe like USA or Canada where students do odd jobs or TA Ships to assist in expenses. Usually its difficult to find jobs in Sweden especially in towns. So if you considering to find a job in Sweden then consider universities in Stockholm or gotebourg. Don’t not consider that doing odd jobs will met your expenses.

Scholarship
As previously mentioned no scholarship are available in Swedish universities. However there are two options for getting a scholarship in Sweden.

Swedish Institute offers few scholarship on the suggestion of universities for international applicants. But the competition is really tough. Only you have to do is to write a letter along with the admission application to the university you are applying. Do visit the university site for further detail. For PhD or post Doctorate visit the SI site and apply directly.
Swedish Universities are also collaborating in a joint venture by European countries for development of Science and Technology known as Eramus Mundus. There are very bright chances that you got scholarship by Eramus Mundus programme, specially for those which are from developing countries. These scholarships are fully funded and very excellent chance to complete masters in various countries of Europe.
